Thirsty Thursdays were nights where you would find anybody who was somebody out and about. The campus grounds were filled with folks drinking, partying, socializing and dancing. Walking about the campus with friends, she spotted her secret crush. He looked as if he was coming from some sort of business trip based on how he was dressed. She instantly became delighted.
She contemplated on whether or not to show or tell him, how bad she wanted him. It was a challenge not to smile, whenever he participated during class, not to stare whenever he walked by, and not to prolong conversation during the few times they spoke. She was open, and he didn’t have a clue.
The brother had hundreds of female fans on campus. They adored everything about him. His presence was a popular demand.
As she approached him, strangely his face lit up with a smile. “Jesus,” she thought. They greeted each other casually, a simple hello… no embrace. “Wouldn’t expect to see you out here,” he said. She giggled briefly, “ What you mean! Where you coming from?”
“A debate,” he replied. “ I’m about to go to my room and change. Then I’ll be back with these two bottles I bought.”
Impulsively and slightly under the influence she asked, “Can I come get a drink?”
“Yeah, I have Ciroc and Henny,” he said, as he unlocked the building door. They walked to his room. She playfully galloped towards the nightstand where she saw the bottles of liquor. He automatically passed her a cup, as he took off his suit jacket. She poured herself a drink and sat on his bed with her back towards him, as he talked about his debate.
As she took a sip from her cup, she thought to herself, “Wow, and he’s still talking about this boring debate tournament…” He disrupted her train of thought to ask her to pass the bottle. She grabbed the bottle and turned to see him standing in his underwear. Her jaw dropped. He was teasing her, using that infectious smile that no woman could resist. She stared for what seemed like hours. He broke the awkward silence and asked, “What’s Wrong?”
“Umm…nothing” she said nervously.
“Then why you looked surprised?”he said.
“I’m not going to lie but you’re really big,” she said.
He flashed that smile again and began walking towards her. She was standing at that point and unnoticeably took two steps back. It was clear that he had no intention to stop moving closer, until he had her where he wanted, front and center. His closeness excited her like a little girl on Christmas day. She didn’t know whether she felt surprisingly comfortable or afraid.
“I know you like me, and it took me a while to notice,” he said. She was shocked! Months of failed attempts to be anonymous were all waisted at this very moment….or were they?? “It’s okay to feel that way. I want you too,” he said.
She laughed it off and said, “You’re crazy. I don’t know where you got that from.” Out of nowhere, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her body in, interlocking his hands with the curves of her torso. She continued with her nervous rant, “I think you’re handsome, yes, but—“
Cutting her off, he laid on the bed and pulled her on top of him and said, “Sit on my face”. She felt as if she couldn’t front any longer… all that was left was to assume the position.
Next, the morning after. She awoke to find herself in a bed alone. Realizing she wasn’t in a familiar place, thoughts ran through her mind:
“I’ve never done this before… I wonder if he thinks I’m easy… what about his ex? I don’t even know him that well… my friends are going to be shocked… shit, I’m shocked.”
She couldn’t keep her mind from racing a thousand thoughts a minute. Suddenly, an overwhelming dark feeling took over her body; we call that regret. She was almost 100% sure she that blew any chances of having anything “real” with him. In her mind, sex was something valuable. It’s something that should be earned as a bejeweled crown to a King. She knew everything would change. No longer will that butterfly feeling linger in her stomach whenever he came around, only a sick feeling of disgust. She was disappointed in herself… it was as if she traded in what could have been a potential husband for one moment of pleasure.
Anxiety began to consume her as she imagined him bragging about about how ‘he hit that’ to his friends. God-forbid word got out. She knew it would spread like wildfire since she carried herself well, usually. She was certain that the consequence of “living in the moment,”surely labeled her as a “whore”.
