The girls sat around discussing what the majority of faithful women in a relationship are disturbed by most… sidechicks. Almost everyone shared the story about the times their cheating men caused them to lose their minds, ready to kill a bitch. However, each woman digressed at the reality that they would face jail time, meaning that by default the sidechick would win.
She sat there quietly taking everything in. Out of the circle, she was the only one single. She never had a boyfriend. Luckily, she never had to endure the pain and embarrassment that many woman wore as a badge of honor. Quite frankly, she was thankful, however, the craving to have any sort of relationship was real! After being the supportive friend, witnessing the anger, hurt, and despair on her friend’s faces after mutliple infidelities, she made a vow to never be a sidechick. Suddenly, a trip to the doctors office may have caused her ideals to change.
It was a Thursday afternoon, during her lunch break, when she visited the doctors office for her annual checkup. Of all days, her doctor was super booked. The wait was estimated to be over an hour. Just as she was ready to turn up on the secretary for booking three appointments at the same damn time, the less than professional adminstrative staff came to a solution. They had given her the option to reschedule for another day or to see the physician assistant, who was readily available. She chose the latter.
She sat back in her seat wondering if she’d made the right decision. In her mind, she felt that Physician assistant’s were not doctors and lacked the proper training to care for her. The moment that she pondered rescheduling, Dr. Jones stepped into the waiting room, calling her up next. She looked up and fell in a daze. Let’s just say, she no longer questioned her decision. “There is a God!” she thought to herself.
They entered the examination room and she turned to sit face up on the examination table. She wasted no time to share her skepticism about his qualifications to examine her. Maybe another physician assistant would have felt offended, however, he reassured her that she was in good hands.
It didn’t take long for the chemistry to build. What seemed like a 15 minute check up was actually rolling over to 25 minutes, but Dr. McDreamy had other patients to see.
After several minutes of stimulating conversation he asks, “Can we finish this conversation later on tonight?” Before she could answer, she looked down at his hand. Long behold there was a ring, glistening. “How did I not see that before?”, she thought to herself.
Once again, she jumped the gun. “I made a vow to never be a sidechick, just like you made a vow to your wife,” she said.
“Who said anything about you being my sidechick?” he said.
“You’re right.” she replied while rolling her eyes, feeling stupid.
He broke the awkward silence. “My last patient is at 5:30,” he said.
“Well I work right up the block,” she said.
“I know. It’s in your chart,” he said sarcastically.
“Well that means you already have my number too right?” she asked saracastically.
“Yes m’am,” he answered.
“See you tonight, then, Dr. Jones,” she said as she seduced him with her sexy, dramatic exit out of the room.
As the door slowly closes, she thinks, “What the hell did I just get myself into?”
