Ashes to Ashes Part 2

By: Toni

She looked at the time on her computer screen what felt like every two seconds. It was now 6:01. I know he said 5:30, but he’s in the health profession. They never get off the time they say they are, she thought to herself. She reopened her notes and got back to work to kill more time. Her work bestie passed and did a double take- shocked to see her still sitting there. Normally she’s out of the door 5pm sharp.

“Girl, what are you still doing here?”

She wanted to tell her about the exciting doctor visit, but decided to keep this matter herself. What married woman wants to hear about another woman being asked out by a married man?

“I’m just finishing up this assignment. Don’t feel like doing work at home,” she lied.

“Right! Today is Thursday!”

She sat there confused. “What does that mean?”

“Greys. Scandal. How to get away with Murder!”

“Oh right! Yes I just want to eat my popcorn and sip on my wine. Not think about work.”

Her phone rang. An unknown number popped up and she quickly answered. She thought about canceling and using Shondaland Thursdays as an excuse, but in reality she was just extremely nervous.

As she got downstairs there was no sign of him. She stood outside for two minutes before becoming impatient and decided to call. When she looked down at her phone, she saw a text that read: Come around the corner. I’m parked on the side street.  With all of the space in front of her office she didn’t understand why he could’t just pull up. This motherfucker is trying to be low.

With all the signs in her face begging her turn around and go home, she still walked to the car. Standing on the passenger side with the door slightly open was a tall glass of FINEEEEEEE. His specs and lab coat were non existent and he looked 10x better than before (if that was even possible).

As she sat in the car she noticed a family picture hanging around the rearview mirror. Why would he put that there? He couldn’t just have a pine tree car freshener hanging there like everyone else in the world?!.

“Are those your children or nieces and nephews?”

“Those are my babies.”

“As in children or…?” She needed all  the reassurance she could get.

He chuckled. “Yes, my son and daughter.”

“Ohhhhhhh.” She took a sip of her bottle of water and remained quiet until he broke the silence.

“So I was thinking of going to this seafood restaurant that I haven’t been to in ages. You down for some crawfish?”

“That sounds good, but Grey’s Anatomy actually comes on pretty soon. I can’t miss TGIT.”

“Are you serious? You can’t just DVR it?”

“Who says I have DVR?”

He begins to laugh, but when he sees her serious face he stops abruptly.

“How about we order the food and head back to watch your shows?”

“My house?” She asked shockingly.

“Yup.” He replied

“You’re gonna stay over for all three shows?”

“If you allow me to.”

“You don’t need to tuck in your kids and read them a bedtime story?”

“They’ll be fine.”

The guilt rushed over her, but the excitement was an ever bigger one. Being that he already knew her address and basically her entire life just from reading her files which displayed her health history for the last 7 years of her life, she felt safe with him. On top of that, if anything were to happen, she knew exactly where he worked.

They ordered the food, arrived at her apartment, and she rushed in the shower so he wouldn’t be sitting alone for too long. She entered the living room with a long t- shirt and some booty shorts that screamed I look cozy, but still sexy enough to sleep with. She told herself this would be a one time thing and she would never see him again, not even if her doctor has 18 patients ahead of her. But when she looked to her right, she saw him slumped on the couch, head tilted back, and eyes closed. Dr. McDreamy must have had a busy day.

She lightly unzipped his pants, dropped to her knees and began waking him up in the most pleasant way possible.
